The AS Designs MP5 Super Safety Lower is the most capable drop-in active reset lower available for the MP5 platform. CNC billet machined from 7075-T6 aluminum, Type III hardcoat anodized, and built around the Hoffman Tactical Super Safety with M2 tool steel internals — this complete kit gives you everything needed to run an active reset system in your MP5 host gun without touching your upper or permanently modifying your firearm.

How the Super Safety Works in an MP5

Safe

Trigger blocked. No fire. Standard safe position.

Semi

Standard semi-auto fire. Trigger fires and resets manually as normal.

Super (Active Reset)

As the bolt carrier cycles, the Super Safety cam mechanically forces the trigger forward before the bolt returns to battery — enabling the fastest follow-up fire your trigger finger can produce.

Lower Construction

  • Type III hardcoat anodized — mil-spec surface treatment for maximum hardness and corrosion resistance
  • Rev. 2 ejector lever mount — updated design with 4140 steel heat-treated ejector lever, custom bushing, and nut for reliable case ejection
  • Laser engraved markings — SEMI - SUPER - SAFE positions clearly marked on the lower
  • AR-15 FCG compatible — accepts standard AR-15 fire control group components, giving you access to the full aftermarket trigger ecosystem
  • Geissele and other premium AR triggers compatible — if you want to run this lower with a Geissele SSA-E or similar without the Super Safety, it works for that too

How does the Super Safety work on an MP5?
The Hoffman Tactical Super Safety is a 3-position active reset safety selector. In Active Reset position, as the bolt carrier cycles the Super Safety cam mechanically forces the trigger forward before the bolt returns to battery — enabling the fastest follow-up fire your trigger finger can produce. Safe and Semi positions function as normal.
Does this require permanent modification to my MP5?
No permanent modification is required. You install the Slip Trip V5 into your existing MP5 upper and pin the new lower on. AS Designs notes some hand fitment may be required due to tolerance stacking across different host gun manufacturers.
Can I use anti-rotation pins with this lower?
No. Use anti-walk pins only — not anti-rotation pins. Anti-walk pins are included in the complete kit.
Is the Atrius Super Selektor compatible?
No. Do not use the Atrius Super Selektor with this lower. It is incompatible with the Slip Trip V3 and V4 and may damage the lower.
