This is the FRT the Kabuto platform has been waiting for: the first true all-metal Kabuto — a 100% CNC machined all-metal body and housing, cut in Dallas, Texas by the same shop behind our best-selling Kabuto Metal Ambi. The 316 stainless steel 3-position ambidextrous selector is polished and bead-blasted for a glass-smooth throw. No printed housing. No polymer anywhere in the fire control path. This is the Kabuto design executed at the quality level it always deserved, and nobody has done it this well.
Why All-Metal Changes Everything
Anyone who has run printed-kit Kabutos knows the two failure points by heart: the printed selector that snaps like a toothpick, and the printed housing that shears off at the shelf. Every part of this unit is cut from solid metal on a CNC machine — not metal-printed, not polymer, machined. That means:
The selector can take real torque — and glides doing it. 316 stainless steel, polished and bead-blasted for smoothness, full 3-position control from both sides of the receiver — Safe, Semi, and Forced Reset (assisted reset) mode — with detents that stay crisp instead of wallowing out.
Bearing steel main pin. The highest-stress pivot in the system, running on the material bearings are made from.
The housing shrugs off the bolt carrier. No shelf shear, no layer-line fractures, no heat softening under sustained fire.
Tolerances that only machining delivers. CNC-cut engagement surfaces mean a consistent reset, cycle after cycle, for the life of the rifle.
Already running our Kabuto with the metal ambi selector ($114.99)? Same Dallas manufacturer, same design DNA — that one remains the best value entry point in the category. The Full Metal is the same shop's flagship: the design with every last part machined from solid stock and the selector finished to a polish.
Heavy buffer strongly recommended (H2 minimum, H3 preferred) to kill bolt bounce — shop buffers from $29.99
Full-power ammo — underpowered loads won't cycle far enough to engage the reset
Dry-cycle before live fire and function-check on Safe, Semi, and Enhanced Semi
State Restrictions Apply: Forced reset triggers cannot be shipped to certain states. Review our FRT legality guide before ordering — it is your responsibility to know and comply with your local laws.
First of Its Kind, Priced to Move
Regular retail on the Full Metal Kabuto is $199.99 — and for a fully machined FRT with a stainless ambi selector, that already undercuts everything comparable. For launch, we're releasing them at $149.99 for a very limited time. When launch stock is gone, the price goes to retail. Machined in Dallas, sold by the shop that knows the Kabuto platform better than anyone.
This things fit n finish is solid! Fits snug right where it's supposed to and functions better than I thought!! No gunsmithing required, but an H3 buffer is recommended!!!
While the device required quite a bit of hand fitting and tuning the end result was what I was looking for. It runs very reliably. The trigger works as designed in all three positions. It's installed in an 80% lower that I machined and I only slightly had to modify the cut in the upper receiver to get it to fit properly.
Very slight surface reduction on the upper arm, had to shorten the actuator arm in small increments and had to make and add a spacer between the Kabuto cavity side wall and the actuator piece to keep it pushed to the right so the arm stayed over the left edge of the trigger tail. Love it! Really fun to shoot. Ammo expenditure is going to increase significantly. Great product & great price. Thanks

Hey This IS GREAT to hear! A lot of the time the polymer lowers and 80% have been the absolute most difficult to get ANY frt to work in, but this new designed T.R.S Kabuto is a serious upgrade to anything else on the market, and truly does not need an abundance of fitment, tuning or filing.
Could not get my Kabuto to run on my Gforce Jawbone 9mm. It did function on my Gforce Jawbone .45 with a few hickups. Had fail to feed and fail to extract issues. No big deal. Passed my Kabuto on to a buddy with a 5.56 AR platform carbine. I have had my best luck with the Disruptor. It costs more but runs as advertised on AR platform carbines with heavy buffers. It's all fun to tinker with. Thanks for offering different varieties of FRTs and the goodies that make them work more reliable. Keep offering up newer and improved stuff and I will keep coming back. My wife says that it keeps me at home. Works for me.
This is not a drop in and did not come with instruction. It did come with a QR code for the instruction, but you have to pay to use the app it forces you to to download. I have installed Ak frt with more ease than this. Should just but a true drop in, like the disruptor.
This kabuto works great put it on my ar 15 and i was surprised at how easy to install and remove the 3 position safety worked awesome , keep up the good work and thank you very much for the product.
Did not fit the pocket in the upper receiver on the intended AR but fit perfectly on another. On the intended AR, the upper receiver would not close. To use on this AR, I will need to carefully Dremel material out to fit.
The complete upgrade to the nylon mini Kabuto for $25 more! It also carries the same lifetime warranty. Comes with a 3 position Ambi selector, like the nylon one does but with the exception that the rotating cam is polished and operates smoother, although they look identical. It's small enough to put in your pocket and easily drops in for instant FRT and can be removed by popping the rear takedown, nothing more.
Would be great if you guys could make it right and send a full metal ambi switch like I ordered; as previously stated I got a polymer nylon one instead and the lock lip on one automatically cracked before I even had it back together. I installed everything correctly, the frt itself fits great! But now the selector is broke on one side i flipped and put it on the side I don't use as much, but even with oil its very flimsy to switch and feels like its slipping its lock inserts and feel as if it's going to break everytime I switch it; pretty much have to baby it instead of just being able to flip on the fly, its cut different so can't really just go find a metal one locally...possibly for an arm n a leg not sure. But as I've already paid for one would be nice to get it. Last thing, safety is now the firing position on the side, semi is on safety, and frt is pointing straight down...not the biggest worry in the world but still wanted you guys to know. Hope to hear from you! Thanks! Otherwise great, everything else is great. The buffer weight and the frt itself didn't have to make any adjustments. Oh, might want to double check orders fyi, I don't need it but there was also no spacer in the package like it says it does... much Appreciated!
Like that it is all metal… but the selectors feel like plastic. Took a little more fitting in a spikes lower than I was expecting, but it’s running great now
Will update my review once im done tuning it, but have been running a SS in my rifle for a few months now and miss the traditional safety. Saw this as a option now and figured id try it out. Dropped it in my PSA lower with a Sig 516 upper and semi nor FRT would work. Read the tunning instructions and got semi working some what decent. FRT the BCG only pulls back 2/3s of the way. I saw in the tunning guide it says to add a angle on the back of the activator lever to hopefully fix that, but havent had much time to mess with it. I was under the impression this was a drop in part like a SS. This is giving me more ruger 10/22 nightmares.
The safety selector is a 1 star for sure. Hope a modified milspec FA selector is offered at some point. The polymer levers for the safety are rough cut and not smoothed. It's also very harsh flipping it through the 3 positions.
With all that said I have bought many SS for the ARs and FRTs for the AK on here and have been very pleased.
I haven't fired it yet, but installation was easy and function checks work. TTW was great to work with.
My single bitch is the selector. It's rough. The option to buy an honest-to-Stoner modified GI selector would be nice.
