✓ Patent-Pending Anti-Bounce Design ✓ Makes Your 10/22 FRT Ready ✓ More Reliable in Semi-Auto ✓ Standard 10/22 Bolt Install ✓ Proven With the Mars 10/22 Trigger

The BoreBuddy 10/22 Anti-Bounce Bolt is the part that makes a forced reset 10/22 actually run. It eliminates bolt bounce, the tiny rebound off the breech face that causes light primer strikes and dead clicks when a reset trigger is cycling fast, and it makes your rifle more reliable in plain semi-auto too. Patent pending, built from premium materials, and ARTakedownTool.com is one of the first dealers selling it online.

See It Run

What Bolt Bounce Does to a 10/22 FRT

The Ruger 10/22 is a straight blowback action. Every shot, the steel bolt slams back into the breech face and can rebound a hair before it settles. With a factory trigger your finger is slow enough that it rarely matters.

A 10/22 reset trigger changes that. The trigger is ready to fire again the instant the bolt returns, so the hammer can fall while the bolt is still bouncing. The result is the classic rimfire FRT headache: light strikes, a click halfway through the magazine, and a rifle that only runs on the hottest ammo you can find. Most shooters chase it with springs and ammo swaps. The Anti-Bounce Bolt fixes it at the source.

The short version: the trigger decides how fast your 10/22 can run. The bolt decides whether it does.

Why the BoreBuddy Anti-Bounce Bolt

  • Removes bolt bounce. The integrated anti-bounce section keeps the bolt seated when it closes, so the hammer strikes a bolt that is home.
  • Built to make the 10/22 FRT ready. Designed specifically for forced reset use, and the natural partner for a drop-in 10/22 reset trigger like the Mars 10/22 Drop-In Reset Trigger.
  • Better semi-auto reliability. Not just an FRT part. BoreBuddy engineered it to improve reliability with the standard trigger as well.
  • No trigger surgery. In BoreBuddy's own testing with the Mars 10/22 trigger, no trigger components had to be modified.
  • Wider ammo window. With rifle-length barrels it runs essentially any ammo. Short barrels and Chargers do best with high-velocity loads.
  • Drop-in simple. Installs and cleans like any 10/22 bolt, using your factory bolt handle.
  • BoreBuddy build quality. Premium materials and workmanship from the rimfire shop behind some of the most trusted AR22 and FRT tuning parts on the market.

Running It With the Mars 10/22 Reset Trigger

This is the pairing BoreBuddy tuned the bolt around. Their setup notes:

  • Keep the original Ruger recoil spring. Do not install the reduced recoil spring included with the Mars trigger.
  • Keep the original 10/22 hammer spring. The reduced springs supplied with the Mars are unnecessary with the Anti-Bounce Bolt and can work against it.
  • Ammo: rifle-length barrels run nearly anything. For short barrels, high-velocity 40 gr loads like CCI Mini-Mag or Cascade High Velocity cycle best.
  • Sear set screw tip: replace the trigger's sear adjustment set screw with an M3 x 6mm button head screw, stacking M3 washers under the head to lock in the depth. Start with two washers and adjust from there.

Cleaning

Wipe it down and re-oil, exactly like a standard 10/22 bolt. Do not take apart the black anti-bounce section. Blow fouling out of it with compressed air, then re-oil.

10/22 Anti-Bounce Bolt FAQ

What is bolt bounce on a Ruger 10/22?

The 10/22 is a straight blowback action, so the steel bolt slams into the breech face and can rebound slightly before it settles. With a forced reset trigger the trigger is ready again almost instantly, so the hammer can fall while the bolt is still bouncing. That shows up as light primer strikes and dead clicks mid-magazine.

Does the BoreBuddy 10/22 Anti-Bounce Bolt come with a bolt handle?

No. It installs with your factory Ruger 10/22 bolt handle, the same way any 10/22 bolt does.

Do I need an FRT to benefit from the Anti-Bounce Bolt?

No. BoreBuddy built it to make the 10/22 forced reset ready, but it also improves reliability in standard semi-auto with the factory trigger.

Does the Anti-Bounce Bolt work with the Mars 10/22 reset trigger?

Yes. BoreBuddy tested the bolt with the Mars 10/22 trigger and did not have to modify any trigger components. Run it with the original Ruger recoil spring and the original 10/22 hammer spring, not the reduced springs included with the Mars trigger.

What ammo should I run with an Anti-Bounce Bolt and FRT?

Rifle-length barrels run essentially any ammo. Short barrels and Chargers do best with high-velocity loads such as CCI Mini-Mag or Cascade High Velocity, which cycle the action with more energy.

Is a 10/22 forced reset trigger legal?
