What Is the ARC-Fire V2?
Not a drop-in trigger — something more sophisticated
The mechanism
The ARC-Fire V2 is a selector-based Active Reset Clutch system. It integrates with your existing trigger group and mechanically forces an immediate trigger reset after every shot — one round per trigger function, every time.
What makes it different
Unlike a traditional forced reset trigger that replaces your entire FCG, the ARC-Fire replaces your selector and adds the ARC cam system on top of your existing trigger group — provided it has a selector shelf cut.
The result is a trigger system that works across more than 10 firearm platforms with M2 tool steel and DLC coating that separates it from everything else in the forced reset market. AS Designs holds a patent-pending on the Active Reset Clutch mechanism. This is not a clone. Not a copy.
What's New in the V2
Four specific engineering changes — not marketing language
Official V2 Improvements (per AS Designs)
- 01Different selector orientations available — three selector throw configurations (0°/45°/90°, 0°/45°/180°, 0°/90°/180°) versus a single option on V1. Choose the throw that matches your shooting style and platform.
- 02Smoother detent track — refined geometry produces more positive tactile feedback and cleaner transitions between Safe, Semi, and ARC positions, especially under stress.
- 03Larger cam surfaces — increased contact area on the ARC Cam improves mechanical leverage and reset reliability across different trigger pull weights and BCG velocities. Directly addresses the most common V1 complaint.
- 04Mil-spec selectors included stock — both primary and ambi selector levers ship in the box. What you see in the product photos is exactly what you receive.

M2 tool steel is a high-speed steel alloy — the same material class used in cutting tools and industrial dies. It holds up under thermal stress and resists wear at sustained cyclic rates. DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating adds surface hardness and reduces friction. This material spec is not found in clones or budget alternatives.

Legality
One round per trigger function — federally compliant by design
The ARC-Fire V2 is engineered to fire one round per trigger function, consistent with the semi-automatic definition upheld in Cargill v. Garland (U.S. Supreme Court, 2024). It is not classified as a machine gun under the current federal statutory framework.
State law is a separate matter. We do not ship to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, Oregon, or Rhode Island. Orders from restricted states will be cancelled and refunded.

Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly is the ARC-Fire V2?
The ARC-Fire V2 is a patent-pending Active Reset Clutch (ARC) ambidextrous selector trigger system from AS Designs. It replaces your existing safety selector and adds an ARC cam assembly that mechanically forces an immediate trigger reset after every shot — one round per trigger function. It is not a drop-in trigger group replacement. It works alongside your existing FCG provided your trigger has a selector shelf cut.
How is this different from a traditional forced reset trigger?
A traditional FRT replaces your entire trigger group. The ARC-Fire V2 replaces your selector and adds the ARC cam on top of your existing trigger — meaning it works across a much wider range of platforms and trigger groups, and the quality of your underlying trigger still matters.
Which selector throw should I choose?
The 0°/90°/180° is the closest to a traditional mil-spec safety throw and the most intuitive for most AR-15 shooters. The 0°/45°/90° is the fastest and snappiest — popular with competition shooters who want the shortest possible throw to the ARC position. The 0°/45°/180° splits the difference. All three are mechanically identical in ARC function.
Does the ARC-Fire V2 work with my trigger?
It requires a trigger with a selector shelf (SS) cut. Most mil-spec triggers have this. Confirmed compatible triggers include most mil-spec FCGs, Geissele SSA/SSA-E/SD3G/S3G, ALG QMS/ACT, BCM PNT, PSA EPT, Aero Precision FCG, and CMMG FCG. Known incompatible: LaRue MBT-2S, CMC Single Stage, Rise Armament RA-140. If your trigger isn't on either list contact us before ordering.
Can I install the ARC-Fire V2 myself?
AS Designs recommends installation by a qualified gunsmith. The system involves selector timing and trigger group interaction — incorrect installation can cause malfunctions. If you're experienced with AR-15 lower assembly and selector installation you'll likely be comfortable. When in doubt, get it done right.
Is the ARC-Fire V2 legal?
Under federal law, yes — it fires one round per trigger function consistent with Cargill v. Garland (2024). State laws vary significantly. We do not ship to 15 restricted states listed above. Consult your own legal counsel regarding your state's specific statutes.
Do I need an FFL to buy the ARC-Fire V2?
No. The ARC-Fire V2 is a trigger accessory, not a firearm. It ships directly to your address with no FFL transfer required.
When does it ship?
Orders placed now ship starting April 15, 2026. We are one of five authorized AS Designs dealers nationwide — stock is limited on initial release.
