What is the difference between an FRT and a Super Safety?
A forced reset trigger (FRT) uses the bolt carrier group to mechanically reset the trigger on the forward stroke, enabling faster follow-up shots with each separate trigger pull. A Super Safety, like the Hoffman Tactical Super Safety or the Atrius Super Selektor, is a selector-based device that modifies fire control behavior through the safety selector position rather than the trigger group itself. Both operate on a semi-automatic, one-round-per-trigger-pull basis.
What buffer do I need to run an FRT?
Most FRTs — including the Disruptor FRT and AS Designs ARC-Fire V2 — are optimized with a heavier buffer, typically an H2 or H3, and an M16 bolt carrier group. We carry compatible buffer and BCG combo bundles in this collection specifically matched to run with forced reset triggers.
