AS Designs — Active Safety Designs: Every Product, Explained by an Authorized Dealer
The complete guide to the AS Designs lineup — the ARC-Fire V2 and its Active Reset Clutch technology, the MP5 complete lower kits, platform compatibility across ten-plus hosts, and every resource we've built to help you run them right.
Who Is AS Designs?
AS Designs — Active Safety Designs — is the USA manufacturer behind the ARC-Fire, one of the most talked-about reset systems in the industry. Their patent-pending Active Reset Clutch (ARC) technology created its own category: not a drop-in cassette FRT, not a binary trigger, but an ambidextrous selector system that integrates with your existing trigger group and mechanically forces the trigger to reset after every shot — one round per trigger function, every time.
The V2, revealed at SHOT Show 2026, refined the original with smoother cam geometry, reduced system drag, and an updated clutch mechanism built for sustained rapid fire — with M2 tool steel internals, DLC-coated cam, lever, and detent bar, and black oxide selector levers. Active Safety Designs builds everything in the USA, and we're one of five authorized AS Designs dealers in the country — which means factory-fresh inventory, real support, and no gray-market guesswork.
The Complete AS Designs Lineup
The Flagship
ARC-Fire V2 — $249.99
The Active Reset Clutch selector system in four configurations: fully ambidextrous or standard, with your choice of selector throw — 0-90-180, 0-45-90, or 0-45-180. Safe, Semi, and ARC positions with positive tactile feedback from either side of the receiver. HK-style selector levers are also available for MR556 and HK-pattern builds that deserve matching controls.

The ARC-Fire V2 requires an M16-profile BCG and runs best with an H2.5 buffer — so we built a combo tool that pairs your V2 configuration with exactly the hardware it needs, at bundle pricing. Pick your variant, pick your parts, one box, tuned setup.
Build Your ARC-Fire Combo →MP5 Complete Lower Kits — $649.99 / $749.99
Complete drop-on 7075-T6 billet lowers bringing active reset to the Heckler & Koch MP5 platform — six host-gun variants covering genuine H&K SP5/SP5K, PTR, Century AP5, Zenith ZF5, MAC-5, and POF-5. Choose the Hoffman Tactical Super Safety kit ($649.99) or Active Safety Designs' own ARC-Fire V2 kit ($749.99). No permanent modification to your host gun.

Multi-platform support is AS Designs' calling card — the widest of any reset system we carry:
AR-15 — .223/5.56, 300BLK and more. M16-profile BCG required, H2.5 buffer recommended. Not compatible with AR-10/LR-308.
PCC / AR-9 — pistol-caliber builds run it too; our customers have it running in everything up to .45ACP Banshees.
MP5 platform — Heckler & Koch and clone hosts via the complete lower kits above, or AR-based MP5 lowers for the trigger system (some need a selector-area cutout).
G3 / HK91 pattern — similar fitment path as the MP5.
PSA JAKL-15 — .223/5.56 and 300BLK with the JAKL-15 Slip Trip kit.
Trigger compatibility note: run a mil-spec or super-safety-cut trigger with the ARC-Fire. Some triggers need a small lever-blocker part to prevent overtravel — available in metal, or as a printable STL. Ask us before ordering if you're unsure about your fire control group.
Which AS Designs Product Is Right for You?
AR-15 owner, first reset system: ARC-Fire V2 through the combo builder — it arrives with the BCG and buffer question already answered.
Lefty or switch-shoulder shooter: the Ambi V2 — full control from both sides is the whole point of the platform.
HK-pattern purist: V2 with the HK-style selector levers, or go all the way with an MP5 complete kit.
MP5 / clone owner: the complete lower kits — the only turnkey active reset path for the platform.

AS Designs FAQ
Is the ARC-Fire V2 an FRT?
It's its own category: an Active Reset Clutch selector system that integrates with your existing trigger group rather than replacing it with a cassette. The result is the same family of performance — mechanically forced reset, one round per trigger function — with ambidextrous control built in.
What does the ARC-Fire V2 cost and what are the variants?
$249.99 in four configurations: Ambi or standard, with selector throw options of 0-90-180, 0-45-90, or 0-45-180 degrees.
What hardware does the ARC-Fire V2 require?
An M16-profile (full-auto cut) BCG is required and an H2.5 buffer is recommended. It is not compatible with AR-10/LR-308 platforms. Our Build-Your-Own combo bundles all of it correctly.
Is ARTakedownTool.com an authorized AS Designs dealer?
Yes — one of five authorized dealers in the country. Factory inventory, fast shipping, and real support before and after the sale.
Are AS Designs products legal in my state?
Reset systems are restricted in some states, and the MP5 kits carry their own restricted-state list on the product pages. Check our state-by-state legality guide and the product page for your state before ordering.
