Individual parts, single components, and trigger-only options β everything you need to repair, complete, or add to a setup you already own. If you broke a part during an install, over-filed a fitted component, need a spare on the bench, or want a trigger without the kit that normally comes with it, this is where those pieces live.
This is deliberately not a place to start a first build. Complete kits are the right buy for a first install, and they cost less than assembling the same setup part by part. What you will find here is the repair and completion inventory: AK-47 FRT replacement parts, Super Safety kits without a trigger, and Super Safety cut triggers sold on their own in flat and curved profiles.
AK-47 FRT Replacement Parts
The AK-47 FRT kit breaks down into five serviceable pieces, and every one of them is available individually. These are the parts customers ask for most, usually after a first fitting attempt went a pass too deep or a small part disappeared off the bench.
- Hump Block β the core forced reset component; the surface the bolt carrier drives on every cycle.
- Retainer Plate β replaces your factory retainer and carries the trigger locking bar channel.
- Trigger Locking Bar (TLB) β rides the safety lever shank and locks the trigger through the reset cycle.
- Transfer Bar β the long wire bar running the bolt guide channel; both ends identical.
- AK Recoil Buffer β cushions carrier impact and protects the rear trunnion under high round counts.
Any standard AK trigger works with the hump block assembly, so there is no proprietary AK FRT trigger to replace. Three of the five parts β hump block, retainer plate, and trigger locking bar β are fitted components, not drop-in parts. Plan on removing material in small passes and testing between each one.
Which AK FRT Part Do You Need?
| Symptom | Start here |
|---|---|
| Rifle fires but will not reset | Transfer bar (check for bend or drag), then trigger locking bar |
| Reset is inconsistent shot to shot | Hump block β worn or over-filed carrier contact surface |
| Trigger binds or feels locked up | Retainer plate alignment, then trigger locking bar seating |
| Bolt carrier sits low in the receiver | Trigger locking bar geometry at maximum extension |
| Harsh cycling at high round counts | Recoil buffer β worn, compressed, or missing |
Super Safety Kits Without a Trigger
The Super Safety selector system on its own, for shooters who already have a Super Safety cut trigger in the rifle. Common buyers: anyone moving a system between builds, anyone who kept a trigger from a previous setup, and anyone who wants to pick the trigger face separately from the kit.
You do need an SS cut trigger to run the system. If you do not already have one installed, pair the kit with one of the triggers below or buy the complete kit instead.
Super Safety Cut Triggers β Trigger Only
Super Safety cut triggers sold individually, in both flat and curved faces, plus the full run of Cerakote color options in the curved profile. Buy these to change trigger face geometry, match a build's color scheme, replace a damaged trigger, or complete a Super Safety kit that came without one.
- Super Safety Cut Flat Trigger β straighter pull geometry and consistent finger placement shot to shot.
- Super Safety Cut Curved Trigger β the traditional profile, available across ten Cerakote colors.
Both carry the same Super Safety cut and function identically in the system. The only difference is the face.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I build a complete AK-47 FRT kit out of individual parts?
You can, but it costs more than buying the kit. The five individual AK FRT parts total more than the complete AK-47 FRT kit, which also arrives with the parts pre-matched. Individual parts exist for replacement, spares, and second builds β not as a cheaper path to a first kit.
Which AK FRT part do I need if my rifle will not reset?
Work in this order: confirm the transfer bar runs free in the bolt guide channel, then check the trigger locking bar cylinder for a bend and for full seating in its retainer plate channel, then check the hump block contact surface for wear or over-filing. Most no-reset issues trace back to the transfer bar or the trigger locking bar.
Are these AK FRT parts drop-in?
No. The hump block, retainer plate, and trigger locking bar are fitted parts. Expect to remove material in small passes and test function between passes, because AK receivers vary widely. The transfer bar and recoil buffer install without fitting.
Do I need a special trigger for the AK-47 FRT?
No. Any standard AK trigger works with the hump block assembly. There is no proprietary trigger requirement on the AK platform, which is why an AK FRT trigger is not sold as a separate part here.
What is a Super Safety kit without a trigger?
It is the Super Safety selector system on its own, for shooters who already have a Super Safety cut trigger installed or who want to pair the system with a trigger they choose separately. If you do not already own an SS cut trigger, you need one to complete the setup.
What is the difference between a Super Safety cut flat trigger and a curved trigger?
Only the trigger face geometry. Flat gives a straighter pull and consistent finger placement, which competitive shooters tend to prefer. Curved is the traditional profile and indexes naturally for most shooters. Both carry the same Super Safety cut and function identically in the system.
Before You Order
Forced reset trigger regulations continue to develop and vary by state, and that applies to component parts as much as complete systems. Review our FRT legality resource for the current picture and confirm what applies where you live before ordering.
